Well, here we are. The final video for 2021 is now here. As per regular, we have our year in review video. The video has returned to it's pre-2020 format, and hopefully staying like this for the years to come.

It's been another slightly interesting year, where even though there were restrictions, the railways made a return. So, till next year, have a happy new year, and catch you all again very soon.

So been a little bit since our last post, since for the last few videos, they've been scheduled prior to publishing, but in any case, back for the final regular video for 2021. Today's video captures the final heritage mainline tour for the year, that is Steamrail Victoria's Members train to Castlemaine.

We also capture the VGR train to Maldon.

Well, final video for the week, to end off our busy 3 video week.

We've now gone full circle and finishing off the week with a Metro trains video.

Anyways, you may have noticed that there has been a missing post about the Wednesday video. This is since, scheduled uploads don't usually get posted here, as in most cases, I forget to share the video on most external sites, so apologeis.

Anyways, today we head to Mooroolbark Station, on the reopening day, the same as Lilydale Station. Unlike Lilydale being filmed during off peak, Mooroolbark was recorded during the peak.

Opening the Victorian Railways D3 Class (D3639 in Red) from Phoenix Repr...

Welcome everyone,

It isn't regular to have another unboxing video so closely to the previous unboxing, but seeing there was quite a lack this year, as we aim for 3-4 a year on the main channel, here's the latest of the models to arrive into the fleet.

Today we take a look at the recently released Phoenix Reproductions Victorian Railways D3 class, and for our variant, we have the Aus Steam 88 version in Canadian Red.

Video has been delayed for a few weeks, as a few issues were found with the first model that arrived. so, despite that, here's the video and the impressions of the model.

K183 Powers Around the Seaside | Steamrail - Sandringham Steam Shuttles ...

G'day everyone,

Second video for the week is now available. This is the second part to our earlier video this week. So as with our last video, we are out once again for the Sandringham Steam Shuttles, but a slight difference in locomotives. K183 has made an appearance, making this her first revenue train since 2002. The locomotive operated the west end of the train replacing K190, who was on it the day before.

Reminder for next week, we intend to have three videos, as since this video is counted as a part 2, technically meant we should have had three videos this week, but has been pushed back due to time restrictions. So, till next week, catch you all again soon.

Back to Back K Classes | Steamrail - Sandringham Steam Shuttles 2021 - D...

G'day everyone,

After some muddling around with the uploading schedule, our weekly video is now available.

This time we capture the first day of operations of the Sandringham Steam Shuttles. On this day, locomotives K153 & K190 took charge of the service for the day.

It was intended for three videos this week, but due to restricted time, the extra video has been pushed to next week, to allow the video of day two's operations to be uploaded.

First Day of Trains at the New Lilydale Station - Melbourne Trains

Been a little while since anything was posted here since most new videos have been scheduled uploads instead of being uploaded at the time of publishing.

Anyways, we are back with the Friday extra videos for 4 weeks.

Today's video takes us to the new Lilydale Station that opened on Friday the 19th of November.

The station was rebuilt due to the LXRA Project that was removing the adjacent level crossing on the Maroondah Highway.

With the video, expect a video twice a week on Mondays and Fridays until the week including Christmas, where the schedule will be adjusted to better accommodate the specials.

Streamliner to Ballarat & Y112 Transfer | Steamrail - Ballarat Transfer ...

G'day everyone,

Welcome back to another video, and the resumption of the weekly uploading schedule.

Videos are approximately a week behind atm, but I also need to work on the other channels, so bare with me while we continue this weekly schedule.

Anyways, today we capture the transfer service that operated on the final weekend of October with locomotives S313, T356 and Y112. The tour set off on the Saturday with just the pair of diesels to Ballarat, where they'd meet Y112, and after some shunting, they'd prepare for departure the following day back to Newport.

Mainline Testing of a Blue K | K183's Third Mainline Testing (Newport - ...

G'day all,

Well, after another lockdown we are back with a heritage video.

Today's video takes us between Newport and Sunshine, where locomotive K183 under went it's third mainline trial, with the assistance of S313, that was also under going some testing.

K183 has been under going restoration over the last 2 years, after she was retired from service in 2002 after an incident.

Anyways, seems like we might be resuming our weekly schedule earlier than anticipated, so till next time, catch you all later.

Metro Trains at Paddington Rd Pedestrian Crossing, Hughesdale

G'day, we're back with another video, so here we go.

This time we are at a little location on the Pakenham and Cranbourne line. Located in the suburb of Hughesdale, a little pedestrian crossing allows people to get from on side of the railway to the other, something which is a little rare on this end of the line, as most would be overpasses or underpasses with the Skyrail.

Pacific National's 'Feed' Grain Trains - Jan-Feb 2019 | PN's SG KC/CK Gr...

With the ongoing fortnightly schedule till mid November, today we have another freight compilation. Today we take a look at a few of the CK/KC grain trains that were ran for the 2019 summer season as drought relief trains for Southern NSW. Operated by Pacific National's Rural and Bulk division, we capture various motive power during this short video.

We are back for another week, no that we have began our temporary fortnightly schedule. Today we return to the clubrooms to follow another service from Lloydhust to St John featuring triple streamliners.

Metro Trains on the Final Day of North Williamstown Station | Pre-LXRA

A little late today because of a few processing issues.

Anyways, time the last of the three videos captured during our one weekend out of lockdown at he start of the month. Today we visit North Williamstown Station on the final day of trains stopping. The station is being rebuilt as part of the LXRA project, and is planned for completion later in the year.

Today also marks the beginning of our revised uploading schedule which will be in operation till mid-November. Looking at the current situation, it looks likely that we will be adopting the fortnightly schedule for a little while till a few more railway related events are able to operate again.

Red Rattler Driver Training to the East | Steamrail/Elecrail - Taits Mai...

G'day everyone, time for another weekly video.

Hope everyone's been well despite being in another lockdown. Today we take a look at the operations from the previous weekend of when the Taits made there operations on the eastern lines.

Also, seeing I only use this weekly, time for a slight update with is to be announced later in the week. From the end of the week, there will be temporary changes to the schedule effective until the 15th of November. This is a change from weekly videos to fortnightly during the times when videos are not able to be filmed recently. This is due to a hard drive issue and preparation for our 10 year.

Steam Hauls V/Line Carriages 'Up the Straight' | Steamrail - Ballarat Dr...

We are back on schedule with videos!

After the relaxing of restrictions from Victoria's latest lockdown, we are now able to get back to chasing trains again.

Today we capture R761 on a driver training run to Ballarat, close to that of around two years ago when she also ran to Seymour. This time the service ran via Bacchus Marsh both ways, finally making the return of steam to the section, properly.

R761 hauled two sets of V/Line H carriages, this being the first time in over 20 years.

V/Line Trains Over Robinsons Road, Deer Park - Regional Trains

Alright, time for another video!

Today we take a look at the recent advancements on works at Robinsons Road Level Crossing, one of 75 level crossings being removed by the Victorian Government.

Located in Deer Park, the crossings has the Regional Fast Rail running though it. With the increasing frequency, the traffic bottleneck is rather atrocious at all three crossings in the area.

I hadn't intended to upload the video so soon, however there were some issues with getting the video planned for this week ready. Hopefully everything will be back on schedule next week, assuming I can sort out my hard-drive issues.

Pacific National's Friday MP4 Intermodal Service (2018) Now Online

 G'day all, this week we have our delayed weekly video. Schedule is back to normal for a while, until our planned changed take place closer to the end of the month, subject to the current restrictions.

 Welcome back, our final extra video for the season has now been published, or at least around an hour ago. We have our 14th installment of Trains Around Melbourne.

Anyways, a little bit of an update, if anyone had seen the post from the community tab on YouTube, we have pending scheduling changes which are planned for the near future, more information to be posted closer to the day.

With the suddenness of the current lockdown, next weeks video will have to be pushed back, as we assess the available videos in the backlog, and prepare them for future use. The original plan was to be partly dependent on new content over the next weeks, but the situation is fully known anymore. So, till next time, stay safe, catch you all on the other side.

Second Mainline Test of the Taits | Steamrail - Taits Mainline Testing

Well, finally after a number of cancellations, we are back out again.

This week we have a short heritage video on the Taits second mainline testing.

The tests were operated between Newport and Laverton, and were initially intended to operate for the whole day, however after some earlier issues, this was shorten to two runs.

Also, for the next two weeks, we will be doing double uploads, as we attempt to finish off the break with a semi-holiday schedule, so catch you all again at the end of the week.

V/Line Trains at Seymour - Regional Trains | 2016

Back on schedule with videos, although no holiday season just yet  as there is still a major lack in video availability. Today we head to Seymour, the terminal of the line and junction for services to Shepparton and Albury.

Another week, another new video.

Time to begin another new series, this time we return to the Australian Model Railway Associations clubrooms. Today we have the first compilation  video from AMRA. Over the year's I've captured various clip from the layout, which have seen little use from the regular follow a train style videos. It is aimed a new addition to the series should be around every 6 months, aligning with the Trains Around Melbourne series.

Mainline Locomotive Repainted | QUBE's G532 Return to Service After Over...

Back for another week, and this week we bring out one of our more recent videos from the backlog.

Today we capture recently repainted G class 532 on it's first week of service and trails. This was a rather interesting occasion, as the completion of G532 marked the first QUBE locomotive to be repainted into the cooperate colours on the broad gauge.

Just a little update as well, with restrictions slowly coming down, there is finally the opportunity to reload the backlog with content more levelled in quality to the rest of the current videos. Although this is the case, there is a delay in the starting, so our intended holiday season of videos have been postponed till July.

Metro Trains at Ashburton - 2015

Well, seeing we are now deep within another lockdown, time to open up the backlog. Though hasn't fully been rebuilt from last year's use, there are a still a few videos available to keep the channel's schedule afloat.

Anyways, today we head to the little station of Ashburton on the Alamein line. The once terminus now as the conversion station from double track to single track. Enjoy, hopefully we will be back to normal videos again soon.

After a successful Cruise express charter, we are now back in lockdown down here in Victoria. Anyways, after losing it's original slot on the schedule, time to upload this video.

Today's video captures a short chase of the Ballarat Transfer train with triple steam locomotive. The operation of this tour was in preparation for the Southern Steam Spectacular and Ballarat Heritage Shuttles.

Another weekly video is here. After initial delays due to some editing issue, then timetabling issue, and then further editing issues which were only rectified in the previous 24 hours, the video is finally ready to go. So finally we are now back up to date again with our schedule and heritage backlog, for now.

Double Header Steam Dash to Geelong | Steamrail - Rail & Sail - May 2021...

This season just keeps on giving, so another heritage tour! This time being the once common occurrence, operating twice a year, the Rail & Sail operated by Steamrail Victoria. This year's utilised ferry Geelong Flyer from Port Philip Ferries and a double header rare pairing of locomotives, R761 and K190.

This video also marks the return to regular viewing and sounding videos again, as our main camera has made a return after repairs.

Another weekend, we are back out again, as I attempt to learn hour to use relief equipment for another week. This week we head down to Ballarat for Steamrail's Eureka Express which traveled via the straight to Ballarat, then back via North Shore. Though the tour was on Saturday, the video only was just completed in the late hours yesterday, so hopefully there aren't any mistakes prior to uploading.

Last weekend saw the return of steam shuttles in Victoria, and it was good to have them run somewhere different. The Steamrail Moorabbin Bayside shuttles operated between Moorabbin Station and Kananook Sidings with locomotives A2986 and K153.
